The Nature Child Drum – a Commission

There’s always a sense of curiosity and wonder as I open to the creative flow in the studio.

There’s an additional layer of delight when it comes to co-creating a commission.

First, there’s the opening up for another: “May I be a channel for whatever is in the Highest Good for my client”.

Then, there’s the deep connection with another human being and their Team of Divine Helpers without being present face to face.

Creating a commission gives me a window into who they truly are – sometimes in ways they may not even be conscious of. 

So it’s wonderful to hear my clients’ stories and feedback once they receive their commissioned piece. This was no exception.

Having already purchased 2 of my small paintings at a spiritual retreat, Lisa expressed complete trust in my co-creative process with Spirit.

She gave me no instructions or preferences. This is the most fun for me – a totally blank canvas …. or drum in this case.

My visions for it started a few days before I had time to start.

These are like mini-movies, so what I paint is the essence of what I experience through all my senses during those visions.

What I saw / felt / heard was a woman at one with the Elements. Although standing still, she was also dancing with the sun and rain – open to the constant changes.

She was at Home in all weather – part of the Elemental Flow in both her inner and outer environment.

One of the messages of the Nature Child Drum is a call to honour or re-awaken that curiosity and wonder that give children that sense of adventure as they embark on their days.

This is the spark that ignites passion for life itself – a great message for us all.

I still haven’t been able to string together the words to describe the energy your imagery invokes in me! It’s amazing!

Thank you for agreeing to channel this beautifully decorated drum for me. It’s perfect in many ways – colour, elements, sparkle, duality, a stance of accomplishment. This is a stance I’ve often visualized myself in over the past 5 years – standing on a high place facing northwest or sometimes southeast, arms held to the sky, grateful to have opportunities and open to new opportunities.

To me, the image portrays a balance of energy, an alignment of self with external surroundings based on on a synthesis of past experiences (water-light interaction) – allowing an opportunity for conscious and unconscious growth by balancing and channeling the energies of both our wild and natural child.

Our eyes can synthesize rain storms into beautiful rainbows with the help of a bright light….

This creative process has provided me with many insights and revelations. I appreciate your ever present guidance. You have opened many doors for me along this path.
