Holy Encounter – the painting
“Holy Encounter” – that’s a big name for such a small painting.
What does the name or the painting bring to mind / heart for you?
For me, the cat on the left represents physical incarnations. The cat on the right, spirit form.
As I was painting it, I first thought of that blissful moment when our little self encounters the Higher Self, our soul, our guardian angels, or any member of our Team of Divine Helpers.
But now, a few weeks after creating it, it reminds me of any encounter that awakens the heart to love.
Have you ever sensed an inner spark when a butterfly or dragonfly lands on you?
Have you ever come across another human being you’re convinced is an earth angel?
Have you ever felt so grateful for the joy your pets bring into your life?
Have you ever perceived the presence of a loved one who has transitioned to the afterlife?
Have you ever looked deeply into your own eyes in the mirror and known there is a lot more to you than eyes can see?
Has a synchronicity ever strengthened your faith in the Divine?
Has a challenge ever turned out to be an opportunity for you to become more of who you truly are?
The painting “Holy Encounter” honours that moment of connection in whatever form it manifests into your life.
So why cats?
I wondered that myself – although I absolutely love cats, the only pet I’ve ever had.
Two of them occasionally appear in my dreams or tickle me through memories and momentary visits.
But I experienced an inner confirmation the day after I created it – it felt more like a message.
I read on Facebook that a friend’s beloved cat had let go of its earthly form.
I’d maybe picked up on her grief energetically, or was being used as a messenger from beyond to let her (and all pet owners) know that all was well.
Our pets never truly leave us. They shake off their bodies and bound around in joy and freedom back in spirit form.
May your days be blessed with many holy encounters of various kinds.
your lovely offering here speaks meaningfully today, Dominique … especially this reminder;
[[Has a challenge ever turned out to be an opportunity for you to become more of who you truly are?]]

I’m so glad it resonated, Orinda!
