Earth Sea & Sky
What did you do this year for Earth Day (April 22)?
Interestingly, I was more excited about Earth Day this year than any other commemorative day or holiday in a long time.
As soon as Earth Week started, I couldn’t resist the inner urge to honour Gaia through this painting, “Earth Sea & Sky”.
I even had to put aside a vision I had for the painting I’ll introduce next week so that this baby could be born. It wasn’t going to wait.
For days, I blissfully connected to earth, sea, sky and planet Earth’s creatures (us humans included) from within my basement studio.
My spirit rejoiced during long hours of creative expression in gratitude for the sustenance Mother Earth has provided me in body, mind and spirit.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve needed her more than ever during COVID-19 times to keep me healthy on all levels.
What about you? Are you spending enough time outdoors?
Whether you’re an active hiker, skier or kayaker, enjoy sitting on a chair reading with your bare feet in the grass, or like putting your hands in the earth while you garden – connecting to our planet’s natural beauty and fresh air is good for you!
You can also connect to the energy of our natural world in meditation, visualization, art, nature videos, etc.
I finished the painting “Earth Sea & Sky” on April 21, leaving me satisfied and free to spend Earth Day outdoors.
I started with a very early morning on my own on Signal Hill in St. John’s to watch the sunrise (our first here in NL in a long time), followed by a 4-hour photo stroll along the newly extended Manuels River Trail in Conception Bay South.
Then, for 6 hours, I relived the experience while creating these videos to share with you.
Enjoy – the painting, the videos and your time connecting to Gaia in your very own way. May every day be Earth Day!
