Two Paintings From the Sea
An art fair in mid-July (my first since the start of COVID-19) inspired me to take a break from videography to play in the studio for a week. And what a playful week it was!
Here are two ocean-related paintings that emerged from this playful paint session.
- Horsing Around (12″ x 12″) – SOLD
The painting “Horsing Around” is an invitation to let your silly out.
Play, laugh, be noisy! Let your colours loose on the world.
Stop taking life so seriously. I know I often need that reminder myself!
It’s OK to act frivolously or idly.
Why not goof off once in a while?
By reconnecting to that part of your inner child, you’ll rediscover a kaleidoscope of facets of yourself you may have forgotten was still a part of you, albeit hidden under the weight of should, woulds, and coulds.
So have fun horsing around!
When you take a Deep Dive into self-examination, self-understanding and self-knowledge, you’re bound to immerse yourself in the ancient wisdom of which whales are often seen as the symbolic keepers.
The spirals of this humpback whale’s breath and the 3 spiral footprints carved out of the glass beads represent evolution, holistic growth, release, awareness of oneself within the context of the whole, and connection with divine energies.
As the glass beads refract and reflect the light, bringing the painting to life, “Deep Dive” reminds you to shine your inner light, your True Self onto yourself and the world.
